Born and bred in Barrowford, John Clayton is a qualified local historian and landscape archaeologist.

He has been involved in BBC history productions, broadcast on national and local radio and has published a number of books on the subject of local history. He is currently running the Burnley, Nelson and Colne Archaeology Project.
